The series ‘Grace Be Said At The Supermarket’ questions what it means to be an individual despite the wearing of a branded uniform and explores the highly personal negotiation between identity and representation.
Jo Phipps’ Biography:
Jo’s work is predominately with portraiture and in researching the subject/photographer dynamic.
Jo Phipps recently completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Photography at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design 2011 and will begin the M.A. Fine Art Photography at L.C.C. in 2012.
Jo’s first series ‘Chance Procedures’ was selected for the Photofusion AMPS/10 Exhibition in Dec 2010 and in May 2011 the first two hand-bound volumes of original prints were published. ‘Joseph’ from ‘Grace Be Said At The Supermarket’ was exhibited at the Foto8 Summer Show from July to August 2011.
